Coming Up At The Anchor Inn

Over the years, with the help of music impresario Mark Ede, we’ve been lucky enough to welcome singer-songwriters and touring artists from across the world to The Anchor. Our live music nights take place in the room just above the bar, making for an intimate setting where you can sit back and enjoy some seriously good music up close. From established names to artists you might be discovering for the first time, it’s a special little space to hear live music in Nayland.

Join us at The Anchor for a Paint & Sip evening with The Funky Easel. Grab a drink, pick up a paintbrush and enjoy a couple of hours creating your own canvas, with step-by-step guidance along the way. No experience needed - just come along, have a go and enjoy doing something a little different. Upcoming dates: 17th November & 8th December.

Sundays are better with everyone around the table. Our family sharing roast is made for two or more, with generous cuts of roast meat and all the proper Sunday trimmings, brought to the table for everyone to tuck into. £30 per person. Gather the family, bring your appetite and leave the washing up to us.

Mondays call for proper pub food. Tuck into a changing line-up of £12 traditional pub classics, from ham, egg & chips to bubble & squeak, loaded fries and other pub favourites. The menu changes each week, so there’s always something different to try. Good food, a cosy pub and one less reason to dread Mondays.

Spice up your Wednesday evening with Curry Night at The Anchor! Every Wednesday from 5pm, choose from chicken, king prawn or vegetable curry, paired with your favourite sauce, from a mild tikka masala to a fiery madras. Served with rice, poppadoms and naan, it's the perfect midweek treat.

Friday calls for fish & chips. Join us at The Anchor from 12-7pm every Friday for a plate of 6oz haddock and chips for £15. Perfect for a leisurely lunch, an early supper or something tasty to ease you into the weekend. Just good pub food, a welcoming table and a very good reason to make Friday a regular.

A Saturday night pairing worth making plans for. Saturday evenings are made for good food, good wine and good company. Join us at The Anchor from 5pm every Saturday for two 6oz flat iron steaks to share between two, served with a 500ml carafe of Malbec, for £30 per person. Settle in, pour a glass and tuck in - an easy excuse for date night or dinner with a friend.

All aboard – there’s a mystery to solve… It’s the 1920s, you’re out at sea and something suspicious is afoot. Gather your fellow detectives, settle in for supper and follow the clues as you work out who can be trusted – and who might be hiding something.
