It wouldn't be a village pub without a great selection of real ale on the pumps..  The Anchor always has top quality ales on the pumps from local and national brewers and with our Cask Marque Award of Excellence it is guaranteed to be a great pint.

Tucked away beside the river, our chefs create the most tender and flavoursome home smoked PRODUCE.

The Anchor Chefs regularly stock the smokehouse with a range of locally sourced meats, fish and cheese.  Curing to smoking can take weeks, but it is worth the wait. 

Our traditional cold smokehouse is 100% natural and the chefs carefully cure and brine, adding herbs to the wood chips to develop smoky flavour depths. 

Try smoked specials including our signature smoked platter, low and slow delicacies, and the best smoky BBQ ribs in the valley.


Beer Festival

11th - 13th August 2017

Growing year-on-year and hotly contested as one of Suffolk’s finest, the Anchor’s Beer Festival is quickly becoming the riverbank summer soirée of the year, being firmly marked in many people’s diaries each and every year as ‘not to be missed’.

This family friendly festival is the perfect summer chill out, accompanied by live music, alfresco dining, BBQ and much more, bringing something for all to enjoy, along with free entry.

With 2017 set to be the largest accomplished by the Anchor’s team in terms of local craft producer’s attending, there is sure to be a cask ale and cider to tickle and tantalise any connoisseur’s taste buds.

Friday 11th August

Blueprint Band - Five-piece soul, funk and blues act will be with us on Friday to get you into the groove and kick starting the festival weekend.


Saturday 12th August

Sam Young - Local acoustic live act, providing laid back tunes for our river bank setting as the sun goes down, and the Summer evening rolls on.
