The Stour Valley, made famous by the paintings of John Constable, is an area of outstanding natural beauty making it a walker’s haven. There are many footpaths that explore the riverbank and surrounding villages, all easily accessible from The Anchor Inn.

There are a number of events and festivals that take place in the village of Nayland. Up to 20 gardens open their gates to visitors as part of the Nayland Open Gardens in June. And in July the village hosts its very own food and music festival, The Nayland Festival, showcasing the best of local talent and local produce.
