Suffolk Punch Horses

The Heritage Farm works to stimulate interest in the seriously endangered Suffolk "Punch" breed of heavy horse...

...whose numbers have dwindled to less than 80 breeding mares, and a total worldwide population of less than 450 registered pure-breds.

Using the horses in their traditional role demonstrates their historic role to present generations and draws attention to their plight.

The horses work the land at various times throughout the year and visitors are welcome to come and watch these magnificent animals at work.

Horse Dates...

We occasionally have Suffolk "Punch" horses working on the land adjacent to The Anchor, depending on ground conditions and time of year.
