Conservation Work

The Anchor Inn is heavily committed to conservation and the preservation of our heritage.

We are delighted to have been recognised for our achievements and contributions through numerous awards for environmental awareness and corporate responsibility.

Visitors are welcomed to enjoy a walk around our paths and see some of our conservation initiatives including the reinstated water meadows, bat, bird and dormouse boxes, stag beetle pyramids and the reptile and insect hibernaculum.

Enjoy a walk to see…

~ The grazing animals

~ The riverside setting

~ The reptile/insect hibernaculum

~ The birds from our bird hide

~ Hundreds of bat and bird boxes

~ The Stag beetle pyramids

~ Lots of wildlife

And if you are very lucky – a Kingfisher

We have been working on a project to reduce erosion along the banks of the River Stour using willow barriers which in turn creates some wonderful habitats for the river life.
